US PEACE CORPS PHILIPPINES HOLDS ORIENTATION MEETING WITH CBSUA

To discuss Peace Corps Volunteer deployment to the Laboratory High Schools of the College of Development Education (CDE-CBSUA Pili) and College of Education (COE-CBSUA Calabanga), the US Peace Corps Philippines conducted an orientation session on May 19, 2025.

This program intends to send volunteers to partner Filipino schools to enhance students’ English proficiency, particularly in their English-speaking skills. Led by Ms. Lynn Vista, Community Integration Coordinator of the organization, she gave a comprehensive overview of the program. Particularly, she discussed key roles and responsibilities of the host institution and partner teachers.

An open discussion followed to accommodate concerns from the host campuses. This promoted a clear understanding of expectations and implementation strategies of the program.

This collaboration with the US Peace Corps Philippines is an opportunity to expose Laboratory High School students of CBSUA to internationalization, adopting a more globalized approach in learning. This will also boost their learning experience, particularly in developing English communication skills, which is crucial in the 21st-century world.
