FINAL LEG OF CBSUA RESEARCH ORIENTATION CARAVAN HELD AT PILI CAMPUS

The Research and Innovation Cluster of the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) successfully conducted a one-day joint orientation and awareness caravan on May 28, 2025, for college deans, faculty researchers, and staff members of the CBSUA Pili Campus. Held virtually via Zoom, the event focused on important protocols and policies concerning various facets of research and innovation within the university.

The orientation covered key areas including Research Services, Extension Services, the Animal Care and Use Committee, Technology Commercialization and Promotion, Knowledge Management, and Intellectual Property Management. Designed to strengthen the university’s research and extension initiatives, the caravan emphasized awareness-raising and active engagement across all CBSUA campuses.

Dr. Allan B. Del Rosario, Campus Administrator of CBSUA-Pili, opened the event with a welcoming message. This was followed by Prof. Ramona Isabel S. Ramirez, Vice President for Research and Innovation, who provided an opening address along with an overview of the Research and Innovation offices and introduced the day’s presenters.

The program featured a series of topic-specific presentations. Dr. Marie Rachelle Jane C. Manganding discussed the role and responsibilities of the Animal Care and Use Committee (ACUC). Research Services Division matters were tackled by campus research coordinators and Dr. Dariel A. Palminao. Dr. Vladimir R. Foronda and his team delivered updates on Extension Services, while Ms. Dindy Deanne Orit led the discussion on Technology Commercialization and Promotion. Assoc. Prof. Shela V. Ruiz presented on the Knowledge Management Center, and Engr. Monica A. Filio concluded the presentations with a session on Intellectual Property Management.

A Q&A session followed, giving attendees the opportunity to raise questions and discuss issues related to the covered topics.

This final installment of the caravan series followed earlier sessions held at the CBSUA campuses in Sipocot (March 25), Pasacao (April 8), and Calabanga (April 14). The Research and Innovation Cluster extended its gratitude to participants from all four campuses for their involvement.

The successful completion of the orientation series reinforces CBSUA’s commitment to equipping its faculty and staff with the necessary knowledge and tools to enhance research and innovation practices across the university. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘙𝘚𝘋
