CDE PILI SHARES ACCREDITATION INSIGHTS WITH COE SIPOCOT IN BENCHMARKING ACTIVITY

In the spirit of unity in the pursuit of quality academic services, the College of Education (COE) of CBSUA Sipocot Campus visited the College of Development Education (CDE) of CBSUA Pili Campus on April 8, 2025, to benchmark best practices in preparation for COE’s Level IV AACCUP Accreditation.

Dr. Melinda P. Pan, Dean of CDE, formally opened the program with her welcome remarks.

Dr. Maria Liwayway Matamorosa, faculty member of COE, then delivered the statement of purpose. She emphasized the college’s intent to capture CDE’s knowledge and systems, having already undergone the same accreditation visit in 2020.

Following this, Ms. Rose Lynnor A. Matos, Quality Assurance Director, provided an overview of the Level IV Accreditation. She gave a walkthrough of the stages and processes involved, which are crucial to the success of the visit.

This was followed by a presentation of the Sipocot Campus Accreditation Task Force by Prof. Emelda Ablao, the OIC Dean of COE. Prof. Karen B. Perez, BEED Chairperson of CDE, then introduced the CDE Accreditation Task Force of 2020.

Through a video presentation, Prof. Rey-Mark G. Basagre, BSED Chairperson of CDE, shared the Executive Summary. Before presenting the video, he emphasized the importance of the content and packaging of the executive summary, as it provides accreditors with an initial impression of the unit being evaluated.

In a comprehensive presentation, Dr. Charlie Nacario, CDE faculty member, discussed CDE’s journey to becoming a Level IV accredited college. Beyond the technical and practical insights he shared, he strongly underscored the commitment of faculty members to the accreditation process.

The program then moved to breakout sessions, where different area teams from COE met with their respective area counterparts from CDE. These knowledge-sharing sessions fostered meaningful discussions and recommendations that would benefit COE in their accreditation preparations.

After the breakout sessions, Prof. Maria Aileen P. de Leon, COE faculty member, shared her impressions and insights about the activity. She expressed her gratitude to the CDE team for their warm accommodation and for providing essential inputs to support COE’s accreditation efforts.

Finally, Dr. Melinda Pan, Dean of CDE, thanked COE for trusting CDE to serve as a consultant for their upcoming accreditation. She expressed hope that CDE was able to provide valuable support to help ensure COE’s success.

This benchmarking activity is a testament to the university’s commitment to fostering collaboration among campuses and colleges, united in the goal of realizing the university’s mission.
