The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) is conducting a comprehensive university-wide internal audit from March 11 to 14, 2025, to assess its compliance with ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) standards.
During the opening program, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Emerson L. Bergonio, highlighted the significance of the four-day audit. “This internal audit provides a valuable opportunity for us to be guided by our internal auditors, preparing us for the external audit. We aim to minimize our environmental impact and demonstrate our commitment to environmental protection through sustainable practices, reinforcing our ‘YES to a Green CBSUA’ pledge,” stated Dr. Bergonio.
He further emphasized, “Your active participation is crucial for the success of the upcoming external audit and recertification. We must collaborate to enhance our environmental processes for the benefit of the university, our stakeholders, and the planet.”
The audit is being conducted by University Lead Auditor, Dr. Rosa Ubano-CID, and Campus Lead Auditors Dr. Charlie P. Nacario (Pili), Dr. Marabel R. Bernal (Calabanga), Prof. Reggie B. Capistrano (Pasacao), and Prof. Douglas Angel A. Aragon II (Sipocot).
CBSUA President, Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, expressed his gratitude to the internal auditors for their guidance throughout the university’s EMS journey. “Our internal auditors are doing an excellent job in providing direction and identifying areas for improvement,” Dr. Naperi said.
He concluded, “We appreciate their time and constructive feedback, which will contribute to the enhancement of CBSUA’s overall environmental management system and processes.”
