CBSUA RI CLUSTER CONDUCTS JOINT ORIENTATION AND AWARENESS CARAVAN AT SIPOCOT CAMPUS

The Research and Innovation Cluster of CBSUA organized a one-day joint orientation and awareness caravan on March 25, 2025, at the Cultural Hall, Sipocot Campus. The event focused on discussing the protocols and policies related to Research Services, Extension Services, the Animal Care and Use Committee, Knowledge Management, Intellectual Property Management, and Technology Commercialization and Promotion.

This activity marked the first in a series of scheduled caravans intended to enhance the delivery of high-quality research and extension outputs through increased awareness and interactive engagement across all CBSUA campuses. The goal was to improve the effectiveness of research and innovation systems and processes to maximize productivity across various sectors. Additionally, the event aimed to foster collaborative participation in the relevant policies and protocols among different offices.

Participants included college deans, faculty researchers, and staff.

Dr. Ramona Isabel S. Ramirez, the Vice President for Research and Innovation, attended and addressed the gathering. Following her opening message, various topics were presented by appointed speakers: Dr. Marie Rachelle Jane C. Manganding discussed the Animal Care and Use Committee (ACUC), Research Coordinators and Dr. Dariel A. Palminao focused on the Research Services Division, Dr. Vladimir R. Foronda covered the Extension Services Division, Assoc. Prof. Shela V. Ruiz presented the Knowledge Management Center, Engr. Monica A. Filio addressed the Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO), and Dr. Jayson M. Dañas spoke about the Technology Commercialization and Promotion Division (TCPD).

After the presentations, a consultation session took place, allowing attendees to discuss various concerns and issues related to the topics presented.

The gathering at Sipocot was the first stop in the joint orientation and awareness caravan series scheduled for April 2025. Following Sipocot, the caravan will visit the Pasacao campus, then the Calabanga campus, with the final stop at the Pili main campus.
