In its continuous pursuit of fostering academic collaboration and inclusive learning, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) proudly welcomed Biology student interns from Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) on June 16, 2025, at the CBSUA Mushroom Processing and Research Center.
This initiative marks another milestone in CBSUA’s commitment to bridging communities toward research excellence and enabling transformative learning experiences across institutions. By opening its research facilities to students from neighboring universities, CBSUA strengthens its mission to create inclusive academic opportunities that transcend geographic and institutional boundaries.
The CNSC Biology interns will undergo specialized training and hands-on experience in mushroom culture, processing, and research innovations under the guidance and expertise of Dr. Arce D. Bellere, and staff from CBSUA MPRC. This internship program offers valuable exposure to applied biological sciences, sustainable agriculture, and food technology — equipping students with practical knowledge aligned with current research and industry trends.
Dr. Arce D. Bellere, Director of the Mushroom Processing and Research Center, emphasized the value of collaborative engagements: “Welcoming interns from other institutions is part of our commitment to sharing CBSUA’s research expertise with the broader academic community. We believe that learning should be transformative and inclusive — and that starts with creating opportunities for students beyond our own campus.”
The partnership also reflects CBSUA’s strategic direction of being a catalyst for regional development by providing platforms where research, innovation, and education intersect. The Mushroom Processing and Research Center continues to serve as a hub not only for scientific advancement in mycology and sustainable agriculture but also as a venue for inter-university collaboration.
As the interns begin their journey, CBSUA hopes that their experience at the center will inspire a deeper appreciation for research, innovation, and community service — key pillars of the university’s vision for educational excellence. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘈𝘪𝘭𝘺𝘯𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢
