The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), in collaboration with the LGU Pili Municipal Agriculturist Office under the Organic Agriculture Program (OAP) and BLGU San Isidro, conducted the Training on Vegetable Garden Basics: Site Selection and Soil Preparation on March 9, 2025, in Pili, Camarines Sur.
This training is part of the YOUNGSTERS Project from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, aimed at empowering youth to engage in agriculture. Participants were trained on proper site selection and the step-by-step process of soil media preparation.
The activity also served as a preparatory step for the full implementation of LGU Piliโs banner program, Find One Commodity for Unique Specialization per Barangay (FOCUS Barangay) & Beautification Projects through Organic Edible Landscaping.
The event was attended by the youth of Barangay San Isidro, along with selected parents. Also present were MAO-LGU Pili Organic Agriculture Production Focal Person Rodel M. Garbeles, Barangay KagawadโCommittee on Agriculture Hon. Emmanuel Bulalacao, Barangay Kagawad Hon. Nestor Infante, and CANR faculty members Abigail V. Guinoo (proponent of the Youngsters Project) and Alvin A. Regala, who served as the resource speaker.
