CBSUA JOINS STAKEHOLDERS IN DRRM, CCAM STRATEGY CONSULTATION

Dr. Philip N. Talay, Director of the Resilience Center at Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), represented the university at a stakeholder consultation meeting focused on developing an Institutional Capacity Development Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (CCAM) on February 5, 2025, at Ninong’s Hotel, Legazpi City.

 

Organized by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the consultation utilized a focus group discussion format, bringing together representatives from various state universities and colleges (SUCs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across the Bicol region. Participants explored how CSOs can effectively support and strengthen DILG’s DRRM and CCAM programs.

 

Project Lead, Dr. Marqueza L. Reyes, discussed the project overview and stated that the consultation is part of the Disaster Risk Reduction Enhancement at the Local Level (DRREALL) Technical Assistance Project – an international research and development initiative co-funded by Expertise France Groupe, AgenΓ§e Francaise de Developpment (AFD) and the European Union (EU).

 

CBSUA’s involvement in this initiative demonstrates its dedication to its mission of leading innovation and fostering resilient and sustainable communities.
