The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) and the Fundaciรณn de Religiosos para la Salud (FRS) led the Training on Small Ruminant Production for the women cooperatives of Pili, on May 19โ21 and 23, 2025, at CBSUA Pili, Camarines Sur. This activity aimed to equip participants with knowledge and skills in goat and sheep farming, with a distinction between meat and dairy types.
The training also covered topics such as breeding, nutrition, housing, disease management, economics, and opportunities in small ruminant farming. Hands-on activities on silage making and the preparation of Urea Molasses Mineral Blocks (UMMB) were also conducted.
In addition, participants were given the opportunity to create their re-entry plans on the third day of the training to better enhance their livestock operations and contribute to the growth of the industry. On the last day of the training, participants gained hands-on exposure to real-world farm operations through a farm visit at Joseph Duran Nubians Goat Farm in Nabua, owned by Sir Joseph Duran, and Naga City Goat Farm in Naga City, Camarines Sur, owned by Dr. Rufo T. Llorin. The site visits also allowed participants to witness the systematic processes of disbudding, hoof trimming, and milking of dairy goats.

Bracia; staff from FRS headed by their Local Coordinator, Marie Joyce Cheryl B. Armea; and CBSUA Extension Services Division Director, Vladimir R.
