CBSUA-ESD, CVM GAIN INSIGHTS ON POULTRY MANAGEMENT  

The CBSUA-Extension Services Division (ESD) and the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) conducted a farm visit at A.A. Ilarde Poultry Farm in Ocampo, Camarines Sur, on March 11, 2025.

Extension Services Division technical staff Member Abigael Rose Bobis, CVM student volunteers Ms. Marla May Vargas and Ms. Diana Carmela Catimbang, and student intern Ms. Jana Dewilde from VIVES University of Applied Sciences in West Flanders, Belgium, participated in the visit.

The A.A. Ilarde Poultry Farm warmly welcomed the student volunteers and intern. During the visit, they had the opportunity to explore the farm, understand the different stages of poultry farming, and observe various poultry equipment in use. In addition, they interacted with farm workers and gained insights into their daily practices.

Ms. Jana shared her thoughts on her visit saying, “It was a wonderful visit and I was pleased to see that they have advanced equipment in poultry farming. While much of their farming equipment still requires manual labor, it was impressive to see how hardworking and skilled the people are in operating and maintaining the farm efficiently.”

Through the activity, the student volunteers and intern learned about innovative farming techniques, modern poultry management methods, and best practices in the industry.
