One with the nation in celebrating the National Women’s Month Celebration, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture organized a series of women empowerment talks and free medical and dental services on March 19, 2025.
For this year, the Nation Women’s Month dons the theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” which underscores women from various facets of life and their contributions in the progress of the country.
The celebration day began with a Eucharistic Mass attended by the teaching and non-teaching staff of the university, along with the students. After the mass, the Director of the Regional Gender and Development Resource Center (RGADRC), Dr. Glenn Redecilla, stated the purpose of the activities included in the celebration.
In partnership with the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, the RGADRC provided free medical and dental services. Teaching and non-teaching staff and students were able to avail of their services.
Simultaneously, series of talks took place in the Alvaro Rabina Hall. The talks began with the Health and Wellness Seminar and Forum. The discussion focused on health concerns and issues commonly experienced by women. In the afternoon, three women entrepreneurs shared their stories of success in their respective business ventures, mainly related to agricultural produce. Lastly, a voters education seminar was given by G-Watch, a non-government agency. They highlighted the power of everyone, not just women, in building a transparent and progressive government.
CBSUA’s participation in the Nation Women’s Month Celebration affirmed its support for the women of our society and highlighted their importance in nation-building.
