The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), through its International Relations Office (IRO) headed by Dr. Cherry Love B. Montales, successfully conducted a Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) on June 19, 2025, for student leaders attending the 3rd Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) Youth Development Programme (YDP) in Thailand, scheduled for June 21โ29, 2025.
The orientation was held from 1:00 to 2:30 PM at the Conference Room, 2nd Floor, Office of the Vice President for Business and External Affairs (OVPBEA). It was attended by the official CBSUA delegates, composed of recognized student leaders from various campuses namely: Ms. Caren Mae M. Latonero, Student Regent from Sipocot Campus, Mr. Edward Joshua M. Mendoza, Student Council President from Pili Campus, and Ms. Princess Danica M. Zamudio, Student Council President from Calabanga Campus.
The program began with Messages of Support and Inspiration from university leaders, including Mr. Cesar Armando S. Camba, Sr. (OVPBEA), Dr. Allan Del Rosario (Pili Campus Administrator), Dr. Ernesto D. Doloso, Jr. (Calabanga Campus Administrator), Prof. Rowel M. Castuera (Sipocot Campus Administrator), all of whom encouraged the delegates to be ambassadors of CBSUA and of the Philippines in the international community, maintain CBSUA values as they represent the university. Following this were messages from college deans emphasizing the importance of attending international events in Advancing the College through Global Experiences of the Students . Speakers included Dr. Gertrudis Girlie C. Jaucian (Dean, CASโPili), Prof. Shela Ruiz, and Dr. Dionesia R. Beraรฑa (Dean, CriminologyโSipocot).
Dr. Cherry Love B. Montales, University IRO, provided an orientation on the program schedule, immigration requirements, travel documents, and cultural practices in Thailand, helping the delegates gain confidence and preparedness for their journey. Ms. Merlyn Olaguer, Administrative Officer, gave practical guidance on funding, allowances, and financial management during the trip.
A touching message of dedication from the student delegates was delivered, highlighting their commitment to represent CBSUA with excellence, followed by a Q&A session where participants and their parents raised relevant questions about the program logistics and expectations.
