CBSUA CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM WITH DURBAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

After twelve days of cultural and academic exchange, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) celebrated the successful completion of its Student Interactive-Experiential Learning Program (SIELP) with two visiting students from Durban University of Technology (DUT), South Africa on January 30, 2025, at the university Farmer’s Training Hall.

The program, organized by the CBSUA Horticultural Society under the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), provided hands-on learning opportunities for students from both universities. CANR Dean, Edlynne Kaith R. Manlangit, praised the program’s success in fostering academic and cultural exchange through this collaborative approach.

Director of International Relations Affairs, Dr. Cherry Love Montales, representing Prof. Cesar Armanda S. Camba, Sr., expressed gratitude to DUT and its students, Thembeka Mbele and Kwazi Khomo, for their participation. She highlighted the importance of such partnerships in building stronger ties for future collaborations.

CBSUA student participants shared their positive experiences working with the DUT students, noting their enthusiasm for learning and active engagement in field activities focused on ornamental horticulture and sustainable farming practices. Dr. Vladimir R. Foronda, Director of the Extension Services Division, reiterated CBSUA’s commitment to supporting the future endeavors of the DUT students and explored the possibility of extending their learning experiences with the university.

The event celebrated not only the program’s successful completion but also the valuable connections made and the shared dedication to advancing global education through experiential learning.
