The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), in coordination with the Provincial Working Group of Camarines Sur and Synergy Pilipinas, led the conduct of a Farmer Field School (FFS) training for rice and vegetable farmers on May 24, 2025, at the Pecuaria Development Cooperative (PDC) Training Hall in Lanipga, Bula, Camarines Sur.
The training brought together farmer-members from the Pecuaria Development Cooperative and the Baao Organic Agriculture Cooperative, aiming to enhance their knowledge and capacity in applying climate-resilient and sustainable agricultural practices.
In support of CBSUA’s ongoing commitment to integrating climate science into community-based learning, the activity featured an agro-meteorology session led by Mr. Ian Niel M. Nuñez, Officer-in-Charge of DOST-PAGASA CBSUA Agromet Station, who shared a comprehensive weather and climate outlook tailored for farming.
The FFS training forms part of CBSUA’s broader initiative to empower farming communities through science-based, climate-smart interventions. By facilitating access to expert knowledge and promoting adaptive farming strategies, CBSUA continues to fulfill its mandate as a leading agricultural institution in the Bicol Region—building resilient livelihoods and supporting sustainable rural development.
This collaborative effort underscores the university’s dedication to working alongside key partners in bridging research, extension, and community needs amid the challenges of climate change. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘦 𝘙𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵
