The CBSUA College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) joined the Department of Agriculture (DA) RFO V in celebrating Rabies Awareness Month by conducting a Veterinary Mission with the theme โRabies-Free na Pusaโt Aso, Kaligtasan ng Pamilyang Pilipino!โ on March 7, 2025, at the DA Covered Court, San Agustin, Pili, Camarines Sur. The event aimed to provide essential animal medical care, including anti-rabies vaccination, spaying, and castration.
A key feature of the program was a discussion on Responsible Pet Ownership, led by Dr. Christopher Dela Cruz, President of PVMA Bicol, who served as the resource speaker. The event was also attended by Dr. Rona P. Bernales, Regional Rabies Coordinator, Dr. Rosela A. Tenerife, Veterinarian III, Dr. Marisa E. Guillermo, Supervising Agriculturist OIC, Regulatory Division, and Dr. Ilene B. Mirabeles, CBSUA faculty.
Veterinarians from the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (Bicol Chapter), faculty experts, junior clinicians from the CBSUA College of Veterinary Medicine, and Ms. Jana Dewilde, a student intern from VIVES University of Applied Sciences in West-Flanders, Belgium also took part in the initiative.
The event featured exhibitors from various feed companies, including Yumyum Dog Food (UNAHCO, Inc.), Top Breed/Top Cat (Universal Robina Corporation), Nutrichunks Premium Dog Food (San Miguel Pet Care), Vienovo Philippines, Inc., Vast Agro-Solutions Inc., and Nutribon, who provided freebies for participating pet owners from Pili and neighboring municipalities and provinces.
