𝐂𝐁𝐒𝐔𝐀 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐓 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐍 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) and the Bicol Association of Language and Literature Teachers (BALLT) have officially entered into a partnership, solidifying their commitment to academic excellence and regional collaboration. The memorandum of agreement was signed today, April 4, 2025, at CBSUA’s Pili campus, marking the beginning of their joint efforts for the upcoming Language and Literature International Conference 2025 (LLICON). This highly anticipated event is set to be a pivotal gathering for educators and scholars in the field.

BALLT is an organization that unites dedicated language and literature teachers with a shared goal: to develop learners into proficient speakers, writers, and instructors in foreign, Philippine, and Bicol languages.

According to BALLT President, Ms. Jenifer R. Sevilla, LLICON 2025 will delve into the diverse, equitable, and inclusive dimensions of language and literature education and research. This collaboration with CBSUA will provide a vital platform for scholarly discussion, specifically examining the role of language and literature in fostering understanding, respect, and empowerment across diverse communities.

CBSUA’s delegation at the MOA signing was led by University President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi. Also in attendance were Prof. Cesar Armando S. Camba Sr., Vice President for Business and External Affairs; Dr. Allan B. Del Rosario, Campus Administrator of the Pili Campus; Prof. Rowel Castuera, Campus Administrator of the Sipocot Campus; Dr. Melinda Pan, Dean of the College of Development Education at the Pili Campus; Dr. Elma Rosales, Dean of the College of Education at the Pasacao Campus; and other dedicated university personnel.

According to the agreement, CBSUA will be a key co-organizer for LLICON. The university will provide strategic support, human resources, venue facilities, and essential technical services to ensure the international conference’s smooth execution and overall success.

Following the signing, Dr. Naperi expressed the university’s enthusiasm for the partnership. “This collaboration with BALLT highlights CBSUA’s commitment to nurturing intellectual growth and advancing academic discourse in vital areas such as language and literature,” he stated. “We are honored to co-host the LLICON 2025 for we believe that it will serve as a crucial platform for knowledge exchange and the improvement of teaching methodologies within our region and beyond.”

Ms. Sevilla also shared her optimism for the upcoming conference. “This partnership with CBSUA is a significant milestone for BALLT,” she remarked. “We are confident that with the university’s strong support and resources, LLICON 2025 will be a highly successful and impactful event, bringing together language and literature educators to share ideas and collaboratively work towards empowering our learners.
